SENTINEL: Polk County does not have X-rated venues such as topless clubs or adult bookstores. Is this something that can continue as the county’s population increases?

GRADY JUDD: Absolutely. My interpretation and that of one of my colleagues at the State Attorney’s Office doesn’t allow criminal activity to hide behind the First Amendment. . . . Our philosophy was not to shut them down. We said as long as they complied with the law, they could stay open. But you can’t comply with the law and stay open. So they’re gone.
